Country comes to the city...
This week my baby sister, Alye, came to visit. I use the term baby quite loosely, since apparently she's now in her second year at JMU, lives in an apartment, consumes actual alcohol (the kind you buy at a liquor store, no longer the kind that comes in a Hard Lemonade bottle), and she is now capable of flying across the country by herself to see me. Pretty cool.
Anyway, it was her Spring Break so she spent Saturday-Wednesday in beautiful sunny Denver with me. We spent a day at the Denver zoo, which turned out to be a blast, aside from a strange run in we had with a polar bear and some rather uninteresting zebras. The weather was gorgeous, though, and shockingly all of the children were quite well behaved. We did a lot of eating out and spent a day in downtown Denver at the 16th Street Mall, just browsing around. It was great to just hang out with her for a while, she's turned into a pretty cool person. A friend, even, more than just family. That's pretty cool.
She got stuck- poor thing- spending nearly a fully day in the CAMPUSPEAK office with me on Tuesday, which I felt a little bad about, but I had meetings and things to attend to! She slept in on Tuesday and I picked her up at lunchtime and we went over to Rosie's. She then came with me to the office with a book and a People magazine in tow and she just chilled on the couch while I had my 1:00 meeting until 3, and then kept chillin while I did email catch up for an hour. She's such a good sport. :) I hated to see her leave on Wednesday, but we had a blast and laughed a lot. It was good.
The rest of my week was just consumed with catching up in the office. Two speakers, Kelly and Becca, were in Denver today so it rocked to get to hang out with them for a little. The rest of my weekend shall be spent doing as little as possible, which I am totally thrilled about. Lazy? Perhaps. Or maybe just activity challenged.
