No thanks, I'm trying to quit.
Jobs, that is. I'm gradually cutting back and it is going to rock.
A lot has gone on since I last posted. For instance, I am no longer an "intern" at CAMPUSPEAK, I am now a coordinator. It's awesome, I'm working exclusively with lectures and really loving it. It's super fun, just insanely busy and a lot to keep up with and on top of. Thus far it has gone well, but I am realizing that eight hours in the day is simply not nearly enough.
Dan left CAMPUSPEAK, and Meghan is leaving in a few weeks. I'm bummed about it- love them both and it's so weird without Dan, and the weirdness is inevitably going to multiply when Meghan takes off. She's not just leaving the company, though- she is going all the way back to Indiana. Super sad.
So with these recent developments, I had to quit Kaplan. It's actually ok- I am looking pretty forward to having my Saturdays off again and not having to run my ass off on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Unfortunately, when you work weeknights like that, the weeknights you actually have off from work become crazy wild catch up nights, and there is no relaxation in your schedule. And consequently, you get quite cranky like myself. This is my last Saturday of work, and I can't wait until next weekend. I plan to do a lot of laying around. (OK, let's be realistic.... a portion of my time will probably be spent in the CAMPUSPEAK office... but I don't really mind doing that. It's ok.)
And in light of the recent CAMPUSPEAK transitions, I now officially have an insanely crazy spring semester. Dont' get me wrong, I am very excited about it! It's just going to be busy and wild and a lot to keep on top of. I'm going at the end of February to NGLA in Pittsburgh. The next weekend, March 3, my baby sister is flying in from VA for her spring break. Then on March 22 I fly to meet Noelle and a bunch of lovely fellow Phis at a sweet sweet cabin in the Poconos for a reunion weekend that is long overdue and well deserved. I will come back and immediately fly to SEPC in Atlanta, GA for the weekend, and then the next weekend I will fly back to VA for Kelly's birthday (hopefully, if all goes as planned). And then, finally, the weekend of May 5 I will fly back to Stafford for Robin's super crazy Cinco de Mayo extravaganza. I can't wait, it's all going to be so fun! :)
I did it... caved in and created a Facebook account. I agree, little weird, little late, totally technologically unsavvy. I am quickly finding, though, that it is hugely addictive. I am weak. :)
Well, guess I should try to do a LITTLE more Kaplan work in the next hour and a half before I RUN (not walk) out of here. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone, and with any luck we will get internet in the townhouse again (ideally internet that actually works) and updating the blog won't be such an issue and so sporadic. Take care, hugs!
