Pictures of last night, as promised...

And so I promised pictures from last night's escapades, and here they are...

That's me on the bar at Coyote Ugly. I was bending down to drink my beer and apparently Brady had the camera ready. The good news is, I am evidently the happiest girl of all time.

The weird picture with the cow up there...This is me and a friend of Shannon's from the Outback on one of the super fun decoration cows that are randomly dispersed all over downtown Denver. I get the feeling that you're not actually supposed to sit on them... but it was fun nonetheless.

We are all dancing on the bar. With lots of bras and underwear behind us. Lovely.

And the random picture of the beautiful Rocky Mountains is mainly for my mother's sake, so that she can see that I am doing more than just dancing on bars here... I am also enjoying scenery! Beautiful, isn't it? Snow in September. Love it.

That's all for now, folks. I have some serious MySpacing and various other nerdy tasks to complete. And obviously, I must catch up on sleep sometime soon. Catch ya later!

Accidental Wednesday night party.

We totally did not mean to party tonight like we did, but I am fairly sure that I, for one, am going to hur tomorrow. And there is a large chance that Brady is going to be in pain as well . I don't think that Shannon will, since she was our super responsible driver, but I did not plan on tonight being so hugely successful. We met a few friends of Shannon's from the Outback and went to some really good margarita place (Rio's), and from there we walked up to Coyote Ugly, my heartsong. Again, I spent most of my night on the bar and we had a freaking blast. I love that place. I drank WAY more than I should have, given that I have to work at 8am, but I guess I am relatively young and now is the time to do stupid shit. Anyways, I danced for a long time and met a very cute (normally cute, not Amy Beer Goggle cute... other people actually approved of him) boy named Jeff who works for Shipyard Brewery, whatever the hell that is. He lives in San Diego and is just here fro the week. Anyways, he is here with the American Beer Festival this weekend downtown, so he said that he will call me and we will meet up. We will see if that happens. Either way, whatever- he was cute and fun to dance with.

Anyways, I took a shit ton of pictures but I am too drunk-lazy-tired to post them tonight, so I will have to do that tomorrow. Stay tuned! :)

Campuspeak: My heartsong.

What a great day. There was nothing specific, really, that made it so fantastic... in fact, it was fairly unfantastic. I did eight straight hours of bulk mailing. And yet, loved it! It's amazing! I guess I'm just feeling thankful to be working for such a great company. There's so much positive energy, so much enthusiasm and passion. Plus, it feels great to be representing these speakers, all of whom have incredible stories and powerful messages. If you're interested, feel free to check them out at www.campuspeak.com. At the top of the page you will see a drop down list where you can check out their bios and programs. It's really nice to go into this place every day, where all of the people work so well together and have so much fun and really stand behind what they are doing. It's a great environment.

It has officially started snowing in Colorado. Well, I mean, not here exactly, but the mountains. They were snow capped when I was driving to work this morning- it's so weird. Beautiful! We really want to get up there and check them out soon. I hear it's seriously the most gorgeous thing you've ever seen. Whenever we get there I will take lots of pictures and post them. :)

I got hired for a part time job at J.Crew. I go in tomorrow to do new hire paperwork and then I think I am starting work on Friday night. I am very looking forward to buying some new J.Crew apparel. :) Plus, I have had too much free time as of late and only one thing can come of that. ;)

Welp, nothing earth shatting is going on, just thought I'd check in. Hope everyone is doing great, especially you guys back in VA- I really do miss everybody. Hang in there, will check in when I have something more interesting to talk about...

Coors field

I can’t believe it’s already the end of September. A lot of the time it kind of makes me want to throw up to think about that, seeing as I am not thrilled about moving again in a few months. Ah well, I don’t even have a plan yet, so I guess there is no sense in worrying over it until I have a plan.

It was another pretty awesome weekend here. Yesterday we went to a Colorado Rockies game at Coors Field. That stadium is absolutely beautiful- we had a really great time. It was absurdly cold, given that it was September 22. I was wearing three layers, including a Columbia fleece, and I was still freezing! Me and Brady and Shannon went and hit up a bar across from the stadium first, called Breckenridge. The food was got was freaking awesome- seriously, best meal I have had in a while. It was really good. Then we went and met Dan (guy from work) and headed to the stadium. It was really weird how few people there were at the game- I guess they can’t give Rockies tickets away. Hahaha. Anyways, we got great seats right behind the foul pole in left field. They played Atlanta and while I was expecting Colorado to get pounded, it was a pretty good game. We left at the bottom of the 7th because we were freezing and at that point we were up 10-5. (Yes, it was a very high scoring game.) We didn’t drink at the game because it was too freaking cold- all we wanted was hot chocolate! Brady ate “Rocky Mountain Oysters”… in other words, buffalo testicles. Yes, it was highly disgusting. I tried them but they were highly fried and slimy inside, so I did not like them.

After that I went out to the Stampede to practice my bull skills. I have gotten to be pretty good friends with George, the bull operator, so he is giving me lots of tips. I challenged lots of boys last night and pretty much showed most of them up… haha, it was awesome. He’s got me up to 85 of 100, so I’m doing pretty well considering I’ve never done this before two weeks ago. The Stampede, on Wednesday and Saturday nights, does ladies’ free drinks until midnight, so that totally rocks. I met a bunch of guys who just moved here from Nebraska (went to school up there) so we talked for a while and that was pretty cool. I finally gave up and came home around 1:30 because my arm was starting to hurt and I was worried that I would not be able to move it today. (Luckily, I was in better shape than I had thought.) I am a little banged up and I keep finding new bruises in places that I don't remember bruising... but what can ya do. It was well worth it. :)

It has been snowing some in the mountains, which is so weird. You turn on the news and there is a news anchor somewhere within 100 miles of here, broadcasting in a blizzard like state… very odd. Earlier in the week we could see snow capped mountains, which was pretty awesome. We are hoping to make it hiking up in the mountains before the weather goes south, but I’m not sure it’s going to happen. It’s kind of cold down here already, which means it’s super cold up there.

Anyway, I guess I’m going to do a little reading and then head to bed before it gets too late tonight. I didn’t sleep for crap on Friday night so I am still trying to catch up. I miss everyone back home a little today- there’s so much going on! My grandbig Holly’s birthday is on Tuesday and her son Cameron’s is in a couple of weeks, plus I heard some good friends of mine are pregnant and I just feel like I’m missing out on some stuff right now. I have a lot to look forward to, don’t get me wrong- I bought my plane ticket for the conference in Anaheim last week, which will totally rock, plus there is so much stuff I want to check out in Colorado before I leave. It’s just weird to be so far from home, I guess.

What a great weekend.

Today has been the conclusion to an overall fantastic weekend! I already wrote about the strip club, Coyote Ugly, the Coors Brewery, and Big Kahuna's Barbeque. Today has been a good Sunday to conclude a great weekend.

This morning I woke up at 10 on my own, which is a good time to sleep till. Mom called to let me know that they made it to Myrtle Beach... not overall thrilled that they are there and I am not. :) Anyways, so I made a trip to King Soopers, the super ghetto-fabulous grocery store of the area. After dropping $50 and coming away with next to nothing of value, I came home to do a little cleaning and organizing. We then decided to have a little roommate cookout of sorts tonight. Brady and I marinaded the steaks with teriyaki sauce that he bought and straight up A-1. Not on the same steak, separate steaks. So we made some potato salad and corn on the cob and other stuff to go with it, and it was an awesome meal, given that I spend a lot of time eating shit. So other than cooking and eating, I have spent all of my day watching football. It has been great. First of all, when the Denver Broncos play at home, the entire city of Denver becomes this one big football crazed environment. Seriously, when I went to King Soopers I accidentally wore a navy blue and orange shirt, which was lucky considering I think I was the only person in the entire store who didn't wear a Denver jersey. It's funny- whole families walking down the aisle with month old children in football jerseys. Crazy, crazy city. Currently the Skins are trailing Dallas by seven points. We'll see how that pans out.

That's about it for now! Gonna go take a shower and get ready for bed, I think, so that I can get to bed early. I am getting old and require much more sleep than I used to. Will update soon!

up and coming Coyote!

Well it’s been a long time since I have updated, but our internet in the townhouse has been so fucked up I just haven’t gotten to do a lot of internet work. But this weekend was so ridiculously fantastic I can’t not update tonight!

Last night was awesome. We were definitely not planning on doing anything last night. Shannon had to work so me and Brady were going to just go out and eat dinner and run to WalMart and come home and chill. So we decided last minute that we should definitely hit up CiCi’s to eat some really shitty, nasty food that reminded us of home…haha… and then we went to Home Depot and WalMart. Sometime during those errands it occurred to us that we should totally pursue the strip club scene. So we came home and showered and called around and figured out where we wanted to go- Diamond Cabaret. After the drive down to Denver we finally found Rock Bottom (sweet free parking in the deck!) and got settled there. Brady chugged down a pint of Jaegermeister and I took down a few shots of Crown and we were good to go. (Very important considering the cost of drinks in the strip club!) So we took off to find the place, which happened to be about eight blocks or better from the parking deck, with a long trek through the 16th Street Mall. It actually was pretty cool because BeerFest was this weekend, so there were young drunk people all over the place. So we found the strip club and went in, after paying a $10 cover each (not as bad as anticipated) and buying beers that were $5.75 a piece (a little on the side of steep). Well, the girls were fairly hot and Brady totally got a lot of play. I had two different men ask me if I would give them lap dances… yes, as in, they thought I worked there. And when they figured out that I did not, they were like OH my gosh, I’m really sorry! Haha it was actually fairly funny, and to be honest fairly flattering. Brady (very slyly) paid one of the Asian chicks to dance up on me, which was totally entertaining. She leaned in and whispered something to me about giving the boys a show, which we did and got a lot of cheering in response. This club, by the way, has the Amateur Shower. Yes, as in two women from the crowd are invited to get into this caged in shower and soap each other up in front of all the boys who throw money at you and stuff. It was insane. It's so different from the clubs in Virginia! Back home you can't touch the girls at all, not even to give them money. Here, the girls are literally dancing off the stage into your lap and you put the money in their Gstrings and stuff. Anyway, to make a long story short, Brady got a lap dance from some really pretty girl and in the end got her number and a date. Insanity, I tell you, insanity!

Well we left there a little before 1am, with all intentions of just heading home before we a) spent any more money, and b) drank any more. Well on the way, it’s a long story but Brady stopped this guy to ask him if he thought that I was hot enough to be a stripper, to which he responded yes, as long as I had dancing skills. Which I told him I did but he kind of challenged me to prove it, at Coyote Ugly. Well I got really excited because I have wanted to go there FOREVER, and had totally forgotten. So Brady said, why not? So we turned around an ventured back to the 16th St. Mall to find Coyote Ugly. Well we got in, I flirted with the bouncer a little (who, by the way, had huge muscles) and we walked around and checked stuff out. Initially I was not so impressed with the place. The girls weren’t fantastically hot, neither were the guys, and it was a little on the side of boring I thought. I’ll just say that by the end of the night, Brady managed to get me up on the bar dancing. It was a freakin blast. I rocked the place, made friends with some boys, and it was awesome. Loved it. Might look into a job there!

Today was a pretty great day, too. I had a productive morning (even though I didn’t get to sleep till almost 4 and had to get up at 7:30), but I got a lot of stuff done with job searching, cleaning, laundrying, etc. I laid down for lunch around 1 and Brady and I watched some totally cheesy movie, and around 3 got dressed to venture out into Colorado. First we hit up the Coors Brewery in Golden. Let me tell you, driving around here is beautiful! First of all, as you drive westward you eventually are just right there in the mountains. Like, they are right next to you. It’s so weird. But gorgeous! The Coors Brewery was pretty cool- we got lots of free samples, which rocked. The place is huge. They produce around 2 million gallons of beer a day! Ridiculous. Anyways, we walked through the plant and at the end they give you three free samples of whatever- Coors, Coors Light, Killian’s, Blue Moon, a specialty Blue Moon that was pumpkin spice, Zima (four flavors), non alcoholic (if, for whatever reason, you would want that)and a couple others, I think. Then we hit the gift shop and I kind of felt like I couldn’t leave there without buying something, which may not have been an entirely responsible way to spend twenty dollars, but how often will I get to go to the Coors Brewery in Colorado? Never again, probably. So I bought an awesome hat and a bunch of postcards for some of my favorite boys who will appreciate them. So we left there and decided to drive on to Silver Thorn, some little town that Darren (one of the guys we work with) had said was cool. So we just drove and gawked around. The mountains are so awesome. Well we got there and there really wasn’t much to look at, so we decided to find a place to eat. Then things got interesting.

Basically, the only chain in the town was a McDonald’s, and since that was the drunk food we ate after Coyote Ugly last night, we didn’t want that. So we started to narrow down the local stuff. Which is when we stumbled upon “Big Kahuna’s Barbeque”. Yes, it’s true. We ate there. And shockingly, it was AWESOME. Basically, this place is a podunk little motel of some sort. Frightening, yes. Deliverance, possibly. But the bar/restaurant is in a trailer. No lie, an actual quad-wide. Football on four TVs, lots of deer mounted on the walls, and neon beer signs everywhere. But the real kicker was the weird little greenhouse thing behind the trailer/bar. This place had this crazy little pool in it. Seriously. So picture this. We are in the Rocky mountains. It is freezing cold. We have a greenhouse out behind the bar which has heaters in it (because it is too cold for anyone in their right mind to be swimming in this weather) and a swimming pool full of ugly nasty looking green water, which by the water was definitely not chlorinated. Now the people all are drinking in the pool and the lifeguard lady keeps running inside to check up on the score of the Nebraska game and running back out to the pool reporting on how hot the coach is and what the score is. Meanwhile, they all just keep drinking and swimming. So weird. It rocked. Brady bought some barbeque sauce to bring home with us, we ate, and we left. When we were leaving the town [Idaho Springs (or was it Idaho Falls?) Colorado, by the way], we saw that it was 43 degrees. Wow.

So that’s about it for now. We are laying on the couch watching the Tennessee/Florida game, hoping Tennessee gets their asses beaten. We might go out tonight, I’m not sure, I just don’t want to spend much more money! This place is really cool though. Great decision to go forth with this… even if it is 24 hours away from everyone I know. It’s been a very eye opening experience. I feel like I have been so closed minded for 24 years! I guess when you never venture too far out of your comfort zone, you don't have a good grasp on what else is really out there, or how big and beautiful this country really is. I'm glad I've had the chance to do it now.
